Domestic violence – CASE DISMISSED
0
LP and his wife had an intense argument that lead to an accusation of domestic violence against LP by his wife. The physical altercation allegedly continued even after the police arrived. As a result, LP was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
After researching attorneys LP decided to hire Robert Callahan & Associates. We began our investigation into the matter and concluded that LP’s wife did not want to cooperate. While speaking to the State’s Attorney' s Office we were informed that that the state wanted to prosecute the case with or without the alleged victim’s (wife) cooperation because the arresting police officer witnessed the incident. However, the police officer did not show up on the first day of court. When the State’s Attorney asked the Judge for another continuance we objected arguing the case should be dismissed since the witness was not present in court. The judge sustained our objection and denied the State’s Attorney’s request. RESULT – CASE DISMISSED
